Consumer-electronics manufacturer HTC has released one steady performer after another, and they hope that their Rezound 4G smartphone hits the Verizon 4G LTE wireless network running. Earlier this year HTC signed an agreement with music legend Dr. Dre, and that led to the delivery of the Beats by Dr. Dre audio software application that arrives in the United States for the first time on the Rezound 4G handset. The Rezound arrives with a customized set of ear buds that are specifically designed to access the Beats by Dr. Dre application. The ear buds are red, and contain an in-line microphone and remote control.

An RDS FM stereo and audio player that supports all major file formats join the Beats by Dr. Dre as audio applications. While Verizon and HTC have been pushing the music application side of the handset, the HTC Rezound 4G device actually contains the fastest processor of all the phones on Verizon’s 4G LTE network. The processor in question is a Qualcomm MSM 8660 Snapdragon chip set, a 1.5 GHz dual core Scorpion processor with an and him Adreno 220 GPU. 16 GB of onboard storage and 1.0 GB of RAM memory are also on board.
Android’s Gingerbread 2.3.4 is the operating system on board, and web browsing is provided through HTML and Flash support. The HTC Rezound arrives in the familiar candy bar design, and measures 5.08 x 2.58 x 0.54 inches (129 x 65.5 x 13.65 mm). The 4.30 inch S–LCD capacitive multitouch screen comes with a light sensor and proximity sensor built into the display, and delivers 720 x 1280 pixel resolution.
As far as access is concerned, the HTC Rezound 4G handset offers Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity options, and microSD and microUSB ports are built in. Storage expansion is allowable up to a full 32 GB, and support for microSD and microSD HTC cards is present. On the camera set, the Rezound offers a rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder and front facing 2.0 megapixel video call and video chat camera. That front facing snapper can shoot video at 60 frames per second and in 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. The rear facing camcorder comes equipped with a dual LED flash, and offers autofocus functionality. It records video in 1920 x 1080 resolution at 30 frames per second.
