With Verizon still in the lead in terms of LTE coverage in our side of the world with the width and breadth of its network, it is only natural for the wireless provider to have a massive handset base of LTE-capable devices, to include the new LG Spectrum 2. With this, we are talking about high-end devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S III and the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD but getting your hands on these superphones and taking them home with you will usually burn a hole through your pocket.

The LG Spectrum 2 is available at a reduced price tag at select online retailers now starting at 69.99.

But if you want to rock an LTE-capable handset from Big Red without denting your budget too much or breaking the bank in the process, the carrier also has a couple of smartphones that are truly budget-friendly. Take the case of the LG Spectrum 2 for example. The handset is just as capable as the other two superphones mentioned above but this smartphone from LG comes in at a more reasonable and more affordable price point.

Not only that, Big Red also recently gave the LG Spectrum 2 a healthy price cut so those looking for a handset they can make use of in taking advantage of the league-leading LTE network of the carrier and saving some dinero in the process, the LG Spectrum 2 is your best bet. Verizon has already given the green light to its authorized retailers to sell the handset at a much lower price point so not only do you get your hands on a very capable device with impressive specs sheet, you also get it at a fraction of its original price. And the best part is that this lower price point for the handset is valid for new customers and upgraders alike. However, you will be required to sign a new two-year service agreement with Verizon if you want to take advantage of the LG Spectrum 2 4G LTE at its discounted price. A small price to pay, really considering what you will be getting in the deal, if you ask me.

As for the LG Spectrum 2, the addition of the handset to Verizon’s lineup of Android-powered devices was announced back in October. The handset also made its debut in the shelves of Big Red in the same month. The LG Spectrum 2 has dimensions of 134.9 x 68.3 x 9.1 mm and it tips the scales at 148 grams.

Under the hood, the LG Spectrum 2 runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its operating system and this draws power from the handset’s QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset. This SoC brings into play a dual-core Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, a full gigabyte of RAM and a dedicated Adreno 225 graphics chip to handle messy graphical situations. The storage space onboard the handset is pegged at 16GB and a user also has the option to have this expanded by using the microSD card slot of the LG Spectrum 2. In terms of its display, the handset sports a 4.7-inch True HD IPS LCD panel powered by LG’s True HD Graphic Engine and packs a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Its camera department on the other hand boasts of a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.3MP snapper.

You can buy the LG Spectrum 2 at a reduced price now starting at 69.99.
