htconeverizonThe Droid Incredible 4G LTE and DNA 4G smartphones were two very good sellers for Verizon. Big Red is not closing those phones out because they were unsuccessful or unpopular. However, many times a wireless carrier will reduce the number of offerings on their network to make room for what they feel will be a flagship handset. That is the case with the approaching arrival and Verizon launch of the HTC One 4G Android smartphone.

The HTC One 4G is available for both Sprint and AT&T at a reduced sale price now starting at $49.99.

Ever since the powerful HTC One has been announced for Verizon, Android smartphone shoppers have been anxiously awaiting the actual launch date of the HTC powerhouse on the largest 4G LTE network in the United States. Without making an official announcement, HTC and Verizon have slowly let the Droid DNA 4G smartphone sell out of current stock. The stock has not been replenished, and eventually an announcement was made that the DNA 4G had come to the end of its lifecycle for Verizon.

With a pretty certain but still rumored release date of August 15 for the HTC One smartphone on Verizon, the Droid Incredible 4G LTE, also made by HTC, has also been allowed to run out of stock. HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE and Droid DNA 4G owners should not worry, as the handsets will still be supported by Verizon, but no further stock will be released on either handset. Now that the HTC One from Verizon is a certainty, there is simply a matter of when it will hit the smartphone marketplace.

As usual, and as frustrating as it always is, neither HTC nor Verizon have released an official launch date for what will no doubt be the flagship handset for both companies. The HTC One has done extremely well, generally showing on most smartphone best-selling lists as one of the top three most popular handsets of 2013 along with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Apple iPhone 5. And finally, HTC has given the Verizon debut of their top handset official credence.

On 1 August the Taiwan smartphone manufacturer announced that the release “should be imminent” for the HTC One 4G Android smartphone, but stopped short of announcing an official date for launch. Verizon also recently posted photos online which show the HTC One smartphone next to several other Verizon-supporting devices. The handset arrived in late April of this year, quickly tabulating more than 5 million units in sales. Hallmarks are a powerful CPU, a large high-resolution display and the highest pixel density of any smartphone.

The HTC One 4G can be purchased for both Sprint and AT&T for a discounted price tag now starting at $49.99.

  1. That’s cool, expect HTC has given the Verizon debut of their top handset official credence.’ Is backwards.i It is Verizon that is finally allowing HTC One on their network. You make it sound like it is HTC that caused such a delay when it is in fact Verizon that hates having a device that is avaiavailable elseelsewhere and perfers to have exclusive model offerings.
