When you talk about LTE coverage in our side of the world, Verizon remains in the lead with the width and breadth of the coverage of its LTE network in US shores. This is the result of an almost expansionist policy that the wireless carrier is going through wherein Verizon announces the lighting up of its LTE network in some areas and the expansion of currently existing ones one after the other. AT&T is in second spot although it may take more than a few good men for AT&T to catch up with Verizon. Unsurprisingly, Sprint remains in the last place because its LTE network is still nascent and was just lit up back in July.

Again, Verizon proves that it is the undisputed king of the hill in terms of LTE coverage in our side of the world because the carrier just made an announcement regarding yet another expansion of its network. The announcement from the carrier confirmed that its LTE network will get lit up in several areas while some existing places will get network enhancements.

Slated to get a taste of the Verizon LTE network are the below markets.

  • Communities near St. Louis, Missouri
  • Richmond, Indiana
  • Sunbury, Pennsylvania
  • Stroudsberg, Pennsylvania
  • Pottsville, Pennsylvania
  • Williamsport, Pennsylvania
  • Jackson County, Michigan

However, that’s not all. Verizon also confirmed that several of its existing LTE markets will also get network enhancements and these are as follows:

  • Rochester, New York
  • Syracuse, New York
  • Binghamton, New York
  • Greene County, New York

With this development, Verizon again solidified its hold on the top spot of the LTE market in our side of the world thereby making it more difficult for AT&T and probably impossible for Sprint to match these achievements.

And what does this expansion being currently undertaken by Verizon entail for users of the Samsung Galaxy S III then? Well, with this in play, there will come a time that no matter where you and your Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III go, chances are you will be in a Verizon LTE-covered area. And at the rate the carrier is going right now, I wouldn’t be surprised if that pans out in the future. Imagine, Verizon LTE coverage everywhere? Wow!

Of course, the Samsung Galaxy S III is more than capable in taking advantage of Verizon’s LTE network. After all, it is one of the most powerful handsets in the market today. Already on Android 4.0 ce Cream Sandwich, the circuitry of the handset revolves around a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset which comes with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and 2GB of ROM. The handset was released in a 16GB and a 32GB model and should this falls short of your expectations, you still have the option of using the microSD card slot of the handset for memory expansion. In terms of its display, the Samsung Galaxy S III sports a massive 4.8-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a 720 x 1280 resolution while its camera department features a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.9MP snapper.
