If you happen to have Verizon for your wireless provider and rock the carrier’s version of the Motorola Droid 4, then you know you have a very capable handset in the palm of your handset. Not only that, your mobile weapon of choice is a handset that will make your messaging life a whole lot easier because it comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that is advisable for people who never got the hang of typing on a full touchscreen device.
However, that is not the only things the Motorola Droid 4 can boast of. Though the handset is already a bit aging having hit the shelves of Big Red back in February of last year, the QWERTY-packing device is expected to get a second lease at life if recent rumors about the Motorola Droid 4 pan out. As it stands, there are speculations that after the original Motorola Droid Razr Maxx and Motorola Droid Razr got upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the Motorola Droid 4 is said to be the next Motorola handset to get a taste of the Jelly Bean refresh.
As it stands, there are reports that invites have already been sent to users of the Motorola Droid 4 to be part of a pool of people to test an “early preview of a new software release” for the handset. Although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, there is a good chance that the software update being talked about here could very well be the much-awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Motorola Droid 4. After all, the manufacturer has already confirmed in the past that the Motorola Droid 4 will also get cranked up to Jelly Bean although a specific timeframe was not mentioned during the announcement.
In any case, if in case rumors of these soak test for the Jelly Bean update for the Motorola Droid 4 pans out and everything goes well, we can expect to see the update getting rolled out to the handset in just a couple of days after the soak test is concluded.
