When the Motorola Droid Razr M 4G Android smartphone arrived on September 10, it landed on the speedy Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. That wireless network has been reviewed by wireless reviewer RootMetrics along with the other major networks in the US, and they pronounced it the fastest and most reliable in providing 4G speeds. With most 4G smartphones bulky and heavy, Motorola did a great job making the Droid Razr M 4G compact, slim and light, while also adding a large, high-resolution display.
The same 4.3 inch high-resolution display from the original Droid Razr 4G is present on the Droid Razr M 4G, but the handset is shorter and narrower. Measuring 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.33 inches (122.5 x 60.9 x 8.3 mm) and weighing 4.44 ounces (126 g), the Droid Razr M is smaller and lighter than the typical 4G smartphone that offers a 4.3 inch display. The handset also delivers 40% more screen and less body than other smartphones with that same size screen.
The Razr M is offered in your choice of either black or white body color, and the Chrome for Android web browser has been pre-installed. The Droid Razr M offers NFC (Near Field Communications) connectivity out-of-the-box, and the 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED screen offers 540 x 960 pixel resolution. That display accepts standard capacitive, multitouch gestures and offers scratch resistance thanks to a Corning Gorilla Glass overlay. The handset also wards off incidental water contact with a splash-proof nanocoating which protects the interior and exterior components.
With one of the best battery performances of any smartphone, the Droid Razr M 4G delivers a full 20.0 hours of talk time from a single charge of the 2,000 mA cell on board. 17.0 days of standby battery power are also present, 1.0 GB of RAM memory is built-in, as is 8.0 GB of data storage. You can add up to 32 GB of data storage with an exterior memory card via the microSD slot, and the handset is powered by a dual core 1.5 GHz central processor.
An Adreno 225 GPU exclusively handles all graphics requests, and a VGA quality chat cam is built into the front of the handset. Around back you will find an 8.0 megapixel camcorder, complete with LED flash, autofocus, touch to focus, face detection and image stabilization. That rear snapper provides video capture at 1,080P HD resolution, and the front facing chat cam can be used to place video calls. YouTube and Picasa applications are on board, and the Droid Razr M 4G handset offers Bluetooth stereo access, and a built-in music player.
You can purchase the Motorola Droid Razr M for a reduced price tag now starting at $0.01.
