Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD: In today’s smartphone world, handsets have gotten so advanced technologically-speaking that you can already do things on your mobile phone that you could only dream about, say, five years ago. The handsets of today now come with a bevy of connectivity options and usually have big-ass displays that enable users to surf the web with ease or at the very lease play games just like in a gaming console. All these however came at a price – the battery life of most smartphones today has gotten so short that it is not unusual for someone to run to a wall outlet at the end of the day to have his handset charged for use on the morrow.
OEMs managed to take care of this by offering extended batteries for their respective devices but sad to say, these accessories had to be purchased separately and more often than not added to the bulk of the handset. It also did not help that these extended batteries were only made available for a handful of devices – most of them from the high-end category.
Motorola on the other hand had a different idea in mind and decided to do the unthinkable – it slapped a massive 3300 mAh power pack inside the chassis of the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD which gave the handset a battery life unlike what we’ve seen in the past. With this monster of a battery in its internals, the handset became capable of talk times of up to 21 hours before it croaks out on you. In addition to that, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD’s battery ensured that you have enough juice that leads to more time surfing the web, playing games or watching videos on your handset before it gets fully squeezed out.
This comes with a price though – the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD 4G is being offered by Verizon with a premium price tag. However, with the holidays already upon us and all, Big Red has decided to offer the handset at a much cheaper price point and has in fact given the green light to its resellers to slash the price of the handset. Those interested would be required to sign a new two-year service agreement with Verizon though but this is a small price to pay for a handset that keeps on going and going and going.
As for the specs sheet of the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD, the handset has its circuitry built around a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset which brings to the fold a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM. The handset comes with 32GB of onboard storage and has a microSD card slot in its chassis for memory expansion purposes. In terms of its display, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD sports a 4.7-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while its dual-shooter configuration consists of a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.3MP snapper, both of which are capable of video capture at 1080p and 720p, respectively.
