The Motorola Moto X is the first phone to bear the designation of delivering a true collaboration between Motorola Mobility and Google. It is also being marketed by those companies as the first mobile handset ever designed and “assembled in the USA”, and hit the smartphone-crazed US mobile marketplace on August 23. The phone has been announced as eventually available on the Sprint and T-Mobile networks, with an upcoming release promised without an exact date being revealed.
The smartphone marketplace is extremely competitive, and after this announcement, the Verizon version of the Motorola Moto X 4G was spotted on the Amazon Wireless retail store online with a reduced retail price tag. The handset is now available for $185 on contract, delivering a large high-resolution display, high resolution camera/camcorder, ample RAM memory and Motorola X8 Computing System. Google purchased Motorola Mobility last year, and this first real effort between the two companies provides a customized firmware and system chip setup Motorola is calling the X8 processor package.
Some indefinite advertising by Motorola has had some smartphone shoppers believing the Moto X runs on an 8 core CPU. But actually, the unique customization of a multitasking and multitalented quad core graphics processor, speedy 1.7 GHz dual core central processor, individual natural language processing core and computing core uses eight processing cores in tandem to maximize battery conservation and speed up the central processor.
Motorola also offers headsets in every color to match your Moto X handset, and the phone employs what Motorola is calling an “always on” environmental awareness aspect. The phone responds immediately to your verbal requests and commands, even when in hibernation or sleeping. Motorola has also beefed up their camera, adding a 10 megapixel camcorder to the back of the Motorola Moto X with a quick capture snapshot feature. Motorola debuts their Clear Pixel camera technology, which captures much more light than the typical smartphone camera while simultaneously reducing blur and noise.
Android’s 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system is present out-of-the-box, and the large 4.7 inch True HD 720P display is protected against everyday abuse by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. Up to 13.0 hours of talk time can be squeezed out of a single charge, 2.0 GB of RAM system memory joins 16 GB of built-in storage space, and a free 50 GB of Google Drive virtual storage is also present. Video is recorded in 1,080P HD resolution in stereo sound, and the Moto X can function as a central Wi-Fi hub for multiple wireless devices.
You can purchase the Motorola Moto X handset at a discounted price tag starting at $149.99.
