Broadband and telecommunications giant, Verizon Wireless has included two new smartphones in its offerings. The two devices from Samsung and HTC operate on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The two devices are enabled to access Verizon’s swift 4G LTE network.
The HTC device is the Droid Incredible 4G LTE, which the Taiwanese company launched in May, and is now available online and in Verizon Wireless stores. However, it is surprising that Verizon has not offered variants of HTC One series – One X or One S, and has offered Incredible. Regardless of that fact, Incredible 4G LTE in reality is very similar to One S and One X. The phone is available at select online retailers starting at $99 for existing customers, and $199 for new customers.

Droid Incredible has a 4 inch Super LCD screen, with a resolution of 540×960 pixels. Running on Ice Cream Sandwich, it has HTC’s latest Sense 4.0, a very popular user interface. The Incredible has an 8 MP rear camera with LED, back illumination and auto-focus. The 28mm lens at f/2.2 offers lowest possible aperture on smartphones and delivers good performance in low light environment. The 8 MP rear camera is equipped to shoot full 1080p HD videos. The 1.3 MP front camera for video chatting can also take 720p recordings. This new Droid Incredible has the Beats Audio which is also found on the One series and NFC for Android Beam. On the performance side, it is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm dual core Snapdragon processor, and a sufficient RAM of 1 GB.
On the other hand, Verizon will bring out Samsung Galaxy SIII on 10th July, while its competitors Sprint, T-Mobile USA, and AT&T have already made it available. The 16 GB version will be available for $199.99 and 32 GB for $249.99. However, the 32 GB version will be available only online from July 10th. The Samsung SIII is offered in two colors- White and Pebble Blue.
Running Android 4.0, it has Samsung’s latest UI skin TouchWiz. The 133 gram phone is lighter than its competitors. It boasts of a 4.8 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The SIII has all the necessary radios in-built; LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi. GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC. Bluetooth 4.0 gives SIII a huge boost, enabling usage of an array of accessories without any significant strain. The camera is one of the strong features of SIII, an 8 MP rear and 2 MP front HD cameras with facial recognition.
