As the first handset from smartphone titan Samsung to deliver the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean system out-of-the-box, the Galaxy Note II has become a bestseller for Verizon. On Verizon’s 4G LTE system in the United States, the Galaxy Note II delivers a powerful quad core processor and the largest 4G smartphone display. The at first maligned but now wildly popular smart stylus S Pen with native handwriting recognition technology integrated into the display is back from the original Galaxy Note. And the larger than ever screen, high-end software and hardware package on board the Galaxy Note II recently received a retail price reduction.
The Galaxy Note II for Verizon is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $99.99.
Spotted in the Amazon Wireless store online at the reduced retail price of $149 on contract, the Verizon Galaxy Note II delivers a smoother and faster user interface, thanks to Jelly Bean 4.1, than did its predecessor with Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0. The new Google Now offers an improved contextual search feature and virtual personal assistant, and Project Butter combines with a much less cluttered home screen to deliver Android’s most enjoyable operating system to date.
On the Verizon 4G LTE system, the Galaxy Note II offers simultaneous voice and data capabilities. This means checking your e-mail while in the middle of a voice call, watching videos while downloading an application, or surfing the web while playing a game. The handset is also slim, measuring 0.37 inches (9.3 mm) in thickness. The 5.55 inch screen receives an overlay of Corning Gorilla Glass 2, offering scratch resistance and protection against everyday wear and tear. Resolution runs high, at 720 x 1,280 pixels, with more than 16 million individual colors used to render visual displays.
That screen supports the standard multitouch, capacitive gestures used to navigate the menus on most smartphones, and battery performance provides a very generous 15.0 hours of talk time from a single charge. Standby battery power lasts approximately 12.0 days, and the Galaxy Note II for Verizon is powered by a Samsung Exynos 4 microchip package. At its core is a quad core 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex A9 CPU, while a quad core ARM Mali 400 MP4 GPU handles all graphics processing.
NFC wireless support is present out-of-the-box, the Galaxy Note II offers Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Picasa applications pre-installed, as well as 2.0 GB of RAM memory. 16 GB of storage are built-in, with a microSD slot allowing for storage expansion. The handset also makes high resolution video capture available on the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder, at 1,080P HD resolution.
You can purchase the Galaxy Note II at a discounted price tag now starting at $99.99.
