After all, Microsoft has already made the big announcement regarding the bevy of new Windows Phone 8-powered devices that are scheduled to hit the market. For the high-end category, we have the Nokia Lumia 920 which will be an exclusive with AT&T while Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer boasts of the HTC Windows Phone 8X which will be released by Verizon in US shores.

With regard to the high-end offering of Big Red for the Windows Phone platform, there has been no solid word yet as to when exactly the HTC Windows Phone 8X can be expected to hit the shelvesof Verizon. However, it has already been confirmed that the handset is headed to the carrier because Microsoft already made the necessary announcements. Though no specific dates have been nailed so far, word on the street is that the handset can be expected to become available for mass consumption by Thanksgiving.

With this, fanboys of the Windows Phone ecosystem are surely expecting the arrival of the HTC Windows Phone 8X but there is another thing that they should be excited about. Rumors have it that the HTC flagship device for Windows Phone will pack support for wireless charging. In fact, several sources have whispered that the handset will not become thicker to accommodate the inductive coil to enable the feature – which is a good thing considering that the original version of the HTC Windows Phone 8X already has a 10.1 mm waist line.

As for the HTC Windows Phone 8X, the handset was officially unveiled back in September but no specific date has been announced so far when it comes to its release date. The handset has dimensions of 132.4 x 66.2 x 10.1 mm and it tips the scales at 130 grams. Under the hood, the handset runs Windows Phone 8 for its operating system and this is powered by the device’s QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset. This SoC comes with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and 1GB of RAM while its storage space is pegged at 16GB. In terms of its display, the HTC Windows Phone 8X sports a 4.3-inch SuperLCD2 panel made from Gorilla Glass 2 with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while its camera department is composed of a main 8MP shooter at its back panel while its front bezel is home to the handset’s front-facing 2.1MP video chat and self-portrait camera.
