Running on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the US, the Motorola Droid Razr M 4G was recently spotted at a bargain bin retail price online. The annual follow-up to the Amazon Wireless holiday sales event, the Amazon Year End Sale has the Motorola Droid Razr M 4G smartphone bargain priced at one penny on contract. That handset delivers the new Android update Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system, Verizon’s blazing 4G LTE connectivity, and the smallest possible form factor for a large 4.3 inch display.
Motorola engineers designed the Droid Razr M 4G with a display that is pulled from edge to edge and corner to corner on the front of the handset. This makes for the smallest possible bezel and a smaller form factor overall, but the handset does not skimp on battery life or performance. The Droid Razr M 4G measures 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.33 inches (122.5 x 60.9 x 8.3 mm) and weighs 4.44 ounces (126 g), allowing it to fit in the palm of your hand, unlike other phones with the same size touchscreen.
The 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED display delivers a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, with more than 16 million individual colors present on that screen. Standard capacitive, multitouch gestures are supported, and the handset is protected against everyday wear and tear with a layer of Gorilla Glass. A nanocoating is provided for splash-proof protection, and the handset is rugged, designed with durable DuPont Kevlar and aircraft grade aluminum framing.
As mentioned earlier, battery performance on the Motorola Droid Razr M 4G is excellent, delivering more than 40% more power than the Apple iPhone 5. A full 20.0 hours of talk time is provided from a single charge of the 2,000 mA lithium-ion battery, with a generous 17.0 days of standby battery power. The microSD slot built into the Droid Razr M 4G allows for storage expansion, adding to the 8.0 GB of built-in data storage. 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is on board, and an Adreno 225 GPU joins a dual core 1.5 GHz CPU in the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 microchip package that powers the handset.
The Chrome for Android web browser has been pre-installed, as have YouTube and Picasa applications, and the handset offers NFC (Near Field Communications) support out-of-the-box. On the front of the Droid Razr M 4G is a chat cam which offers video call support and portrait snapshot capture, while the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder is capable of recording video at a rate of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD resolution).
