The Lumia 1020 delivers the PureView Phase 1 and Phase 2 mobile camera technologies of Nokia for the first time. The large 41 megapixel sensor on the premier camera is graced with optical image stabilization and a 3X lossless zoom. A six element Carl Zeiss optics systems is on board, and Nokia has added its pixel binning technology which substantially upgrades picture and video quality. A dual core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU is present in the hardware package, as is 2.0 GB of RAM memory and an Adreno 225 graphics processor. The secondary camera is a 1.2 megapixel chat cam located on the front of the phone, capable of 720P video capture.
Returning to the outstanding camera on the back of the handset, we find both Xenon & LED flashes, auto and manual focus, dual camera capture and a wide angle panorama mode for both the front and back cameras. A video light has been added for nighttime video capture, and an extensive special effects and customization package is on board. That rear facing camera can record video in 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD resolution) and at the rate of 30 frames per second, and Nokia has included Dolby Digital Plus sound, an FM Stereo radio and Dolby headphone enhancement in the Lumia 1020 as well.
