We have already seen what to expect from the heavy weights like LG, Samsung and HTC at the Mobile World Congress 2012. It’s now time we divert our attention to gadgets we can expect from the lesser known companies.
First on this list is Nokia. It may be wrong to include Nokia as a lesser known company, but when it comes to high end smartphones and tablets, Nokia is still a newbie in this field. However this year’s edition of the MWC could become the ideal platform to make it all the way to the top. With Nokia and Windows seeming to have formed a rock-solid relationship, it is no surprise that most of their smartphones are expected to be powered by the Windows Phone OS.
Coming to phones we can expect from Nokia this year; first on the list we have the Nokia Lumia 910. The phone’s specs are still a mystery; however Nokia has confirmed that the phone will be launched in May this year. Next on the list is the Nokia 610. Nokia has confirmed that this is a low end phone and will be released along with the Lumia 910. Nokia is also expected to release a Symbian powered phone at the conference this year. The phone has been named as the Nokia 808 Pure View. Like most other Symbian (Nokia) phones this is expected to have a stellar camera, with rumours that it could be a 12MP behemoth. Also expected at the MWC is Nokia’s flagship phone, the Lumia 900 in white.
Sony is also expected to throw in a few surprises in order to create some excitement in the market. A total of three phones are expected to be released. The Xperia U, the Xperia P and the Pepper are what we can expect from Sony at the MWC. All the three seem to be mid-range phones, with decent specs. Sony has confirmed the Xperia U will be ICS upgradable.
Even the Chinese manufacturer ZTE has joined the party this year, with the announcement of three phones. The Mimosa X, the PF 200 and the N910 are the phones that ZTE is expected to release this year. All the three seem to have similar specs and fit right into the mid range category. Huawei is also expected to release a quad core handset at the MWC the year. A tablet named the Mediapad 10 is also expected. Specs surrounding both these gadgets are unavailable at the moment.
