At the moment, the Nokia Lumia 920 is one of the more capable handsets in the Windows Phone platform. At one point, the handset was the flagship device of the Finnish smartphone maker and with this status came the fact that the Nokia Lumia 920 boasted of impressive components under the hood. In fact, whatever punch the handset still packs in its internals is still very impressive despite its slightly aging status.
The Nokia Lumia 920 4G is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.
If you happen to have AT&T for your wireless provider and rock the carrier’s variant of the Nokia Lumia 920, you know that the device you hold in the palm of your hands still has what it takes to go up against the current bad boys of the smartphone competition. And the best part is that the Nokia Lumia 920 is slated to become more capable than it already is once the Amber Update finally starts rolling out to the device.
We’ve been hearing about the supposed Amber Update for the Nokia Lumia 920 for a couple of months now and a Tweet from Nokia Spain announced that the said update is set to commence its rollout to the handset this August. However, not everybody knows just what enhancements the Amber update will bring to the handset itself. But with the leaked video of the update running on a Nokia Lumia 920 already making its rounds on the internet, we finally get to see just what goodies and treats it brings in two.
The more notable improvements the Amber Update will bring to the Nokia Lumia 920 are all listed below:
- Double tap to wake
- Glance setting – Lockscreen clock feature
- Flip to silence
- New wallpapers
- Smart Camera app
- Ability to set color profile for your screen
The treats mentioned above are the Nokia-specific enhancements that will make their way to the Nokia Lumia 920 but the whole update package also brings in tow the GDR2 Windows Phone OS update which brings the following enhancements to the handset:
- IBN Notes Traveler and Sina Weibo (China only) account integration
- FM radio
- More carriers with DataSense support
- CalDAV and CardDav support
With all these improvements and enhancements, the Amber Update is truly worth waiting for and you are all advised to have this applied on your Nokia Lumia 920 as soon as it lands on the handset.

Also, the handset comes with a very generous 32GB of onboard storage while its display is a 4.5-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. In terms of its shooting department, the Nokia Lumia 920 on the other hand features a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.3MP video call and self-portrait snapper.
