Last week, it was reported that the Windows Phone Tango update for the Nokia Lumia 900 4G is already uploaded in the servers of Nokia after it was discovered using NaviFirm+. The build of the Tango update is 8779 while its software version is 12223. At that time, there was no confirmation as to when the update will get rolled out to the handset but at least, Windows fanboys rocking the Nokia Lumia 900 4G were hopeful that they wouldn’t have to wait that long for the update to hit the airwaves.
And now it has.
We now have confirmation that Nokia and AT&T has started the rollout of the Windows Phone Tango update to the Nokia Lumia 900 4G starting today. In fact, reports from users are already coming in confirming that the update is already live and ready to be taken advantage of. So if you happen to rock a Nokia Lumia 900 4G from AT&T, you might want to hook it up to your computer and fire up the Zune software to get the update process started.
Once your handset is already connected to your computer, the Zune software will prompt you that an OS update is available for your device and from then on, it will guide you through the process of applying the Tango update to your Nokia Lumia 900 4G. With this update, there is no need to do a hard reset on your smartphone and you will not lose any information on your device.
The Tango update is much awaited because it brings a lot of goodies and treats to the Nokia Lumia 900 4G. The most notable among these is the “flip to silence” functionality. Applying the update on your handset will also improve its start-up performance and give you quick access to the camera application even when the phone is locked by just quickly pressing the dedicated camera button of the Nokia Lumia 900 4G.

The storage capacity of the handset is pegged at 16GB while its display is a 4.3-inch AMOLED panel powered by ClearBlack technology and has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.
