Matthew Miller is a ZDNet smartphone writer and reviewer, and several times throughout the year he lists his picks for the top 10 mobile handsets. Bear in mind this is an unofficial top 10, but Mister Miller has a good reputation in the mobile marketplace, and his top 10 lists are always enjoyable and insightful. Let’s take a look at those 10 best smartphones and mobile handsets which Matt feels match the heat of summer with their impressive performance and features.
To be totally transparent, Mr Miller owns an HTC One smartphone, and he unabashedly names it the best overall smartphone currently available. As a mobile handset and smartphone reviewer and analyst, he has access to the latest information and data covering the marketplace, and chose the HTC One because of its high-end feature package. He has used all the phones on this list, and some of these mobile handsets are unfortunately only available from select carriers.
He mentioned the HTC One hardware “is fantastic and unmatched by any other smartphone, in my opinion.” The ” target=”_blank”>HTC One runs on a powerful quad core 1.7 GHz processor, boasts 2.0 GB of RAM memory and a Full HD 1,080P 4.7 inch Super LCD 3 display. The handset debuts HTC UltraPixel technology, offers dual front facing microphones and stereo speakers, and digital image stabilization. The Sense 5 user interface is on board, and the HTC BlinkFeed home screen app allows you to choose exactly what content appears there. Learn more about the HTC One.
The ZDNet reviewer lists the” target=”_blank”>Nokia Lumia 1020 in second place, mentioning that the camera is definitely high end, and perhaps the best found on any smartphone. He calls the Nokia Lumia 1020 “the best Windows Phone device ever made” and stated the handset is just behind the HTC One in overall performance. He lists the upcoming LG G2 as likely the third best smartphone of summer, even though it has not yet debuted. The G2 is proposed to launch on all four major US wireless carriers, probably in September of this year, with a large 5.2 inch screen, 2.0 GB of RAM memory and a 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization.
In the number four “hottest smartphones of summer” spot is the Apple iPhone 5, though the smartphone reviewer mentioned that Apple will have to start delivering more features on their handsets to keep up with companies like HTC and Samsung. The Galaxy S4 is listed as the fifth hottest phone of summer, delivering incredible contextual awareness features and the ability to access your phone without even touching it. The Samsung Galaxy Note II, Moto X, Sony Xperia Z, Nokia Lumia 925/928/920 and BlackBerry Z10/Q10 make up this reviewer’s Top 10 summer smartphone list, and he adds that if you purchase any of these phones, you will have an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
